Short and Sweet Capri
I could spend everyday for the rest of my life in Capri.
Here’s what you need to know:
You can get here by ferry from any of the other ports - Minori, Amalfi, Positano, Naples. It’s give or take an hour.
There’s two sides to the island. The port side and “Ana Capri.”
You can get to Ana Capri by taxi or the “Funicular” if you don’t have any luggage. This is basically a ski lift. It does have beautiful views but the line can be long in the Summer.
There are nicer shops and restaurants in AnaCapri. Both boutiques and designer.
As far as Blue Grotto tours are concerned… You must go EARLY. They typically open around 9am. You need fortune on your side to have a chance of entering. The waters have to be just right and the earlier you go the better chance you have. You get on a small boat to get to the grotto and then climb into smaller row boats with 2-3 people each when you get there. Alternatively, if you’re already in Anacapri, you can walk there and get directly on a row boat. To do this, start from the center of Anacapri, first walk down Via Pagliaro then down Via Grotta Azzurra. This was the most stunning experience 10/10 recommend.
Pro tip- tip your row boat skippy and they might let you jump out and swim.
For lunch, there are tons of tourists restaurants by the port. You must get a lemon cello spritz in a giant lemon.
